SAN FRANCISCO:
Barbie is celebrating the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley, with a collectible doll.

The female doll made by Mattel is dressed in Presley’s “American Eagle” jumpsuit, which features colourful rhinestones and a red scarf. The piece is embellished with red, gold, and sparkling blue eagles, and like the original, the silhouette features an attached cape, belt and bell bottoms.

Presley was known for his signature look and accessories. The doll also comes with white pointed-toe boots and a golden ring with turquoise accents. A sleek pompadour ponytail completes her look.

The King wore the jumpsuit during numerous concert appearances.

Elvis’ first RCA single, “Heartbreak Hotel”, was released in 1956 and became his first single to sell over a million copies. His first album, “Elvis Presley”, went to No 1 on Billboard’s pop album chart.

In 1973, he made television and entertainment history with his “Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite”. It was the first worldwide, live satellite broadcast of a concert, seen in about 40 countries by 1 billion to 1.5 billion people.

Presley died on Aug 16, 1977 at his Graceland home in Memphis, Tennessee.
