SEOUL: Song Yoo-jung, a South Korean actress and model best known for the series ‘Make Your Wish’, died on Jan 23 at the age of 26.
Her representatives, the Sublime Artist Agency, confirmed the news.
While the cause of death was not revealed, a funeral was held at the Gangnam Branch of the Seoul Medical Centre on the afternoon of Monday, Jan 25.
Song catapulted to fame after her stint as a cosmetics brand model before shifting to acting in 2013. She played a supporting role in the romantic drama ‘Golden Rainbow’, and then ‘Make Your Wish’ in 2014.
She was also part of ‘School 2017’, and one of the leads in ‘Dear My Name’.
She signed with Sublime Artist Agency in 2019, but did not appear in any more dramas after ‘Dear My Name’.
Several news reports have stated that Song did commit suicide, but the articles were immediately amended after.
