PARIS:
South Korean car manufacturer Hyundai is launching its first exclusive NFT collection around the concept of “metamobility,” named “Shooting Star.”

Nearly 10,000 non-fungible tokens will go on sale over two days, the idea being to create a genuine community, as well as a new source of revenue for Hyundai.

On Monday, May 9 and Tuesday, May 10, 2022, Hyundai will release close to 10,000 NFTs on its official website, offered at 0.15 ETH each, or about US$410 at the current Ethereum price.

As part of this launch, Hyundai will first display a placeholder image before revealing the actual appearance of the NFTs in its “Shooting Star” collection.

Buyers will own a one-of-a-kind NFT that makes them the rightful owners of the piece.

Through this initiative, and others like it in the future, Hyundai hopes to build a global NFT community, while expanding its business and generating new revenue.

The sale is also part of Hyundai’s broader concept of “metamobility,” a combination of robotics and metaverse that will eventually revolutionise mobility.

In fact, the manufacturer wishes to position itself as a pioneer in terms of new dematerialized and/or virtual technologies, including NFT.
