Produced in collaboration with the wildlife and national parks department (Perhilitan), the collection reflects a shared commitment to preserving Malaysia’s natural heritage and ecological balance for future generations.
Parrots play an important role in forest ecosystems through seed dispersal and regeneration, while also being admired for their intelligence and colourful plumage.
The collection features two illustrated stamp designs and a miniature sheet with a die-cut finish that mirrors the natural silhouette of a parrot.
Three local species are highlighted: the long-tailed parakeet (Psittacula longicauda), listed as “vulnerable” on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List; the blue-rumped parrot (Psittinus cyanurus), classified as “near threatened”; and the blue-crowned hanging parrot (Loriculus galgulus), listed as “least concern”.

The Malaysian parrot folder set is priced at RM66.30 and includes two stamps valued at RM1 and RM1.30, a miniature sheet, a First Day Cover with stamps, another First Day Cover featuring the miniature sheet, and an exclusive collector’s folder.
The collection will be available from today in conjunction with World Parrot Day at 90 philatelic bureaus nationwide, including 13 general post offices, other selected post offices, and the Pos Malaysia online store, while stocks last.
Pos Malaysia is also partnering with selected bird parks for first-day sales events. The collection will be available at Kuala Lumpur Bird Park and Penang Bird Park today, followed by Langkawi Wildlife Park on June 3.
