Opened last year, the cosy plant shop feels more like a secret oasis, brimming with charming succulents and lush houseplants.
Now plant lovers can enjoy the shop’s lush greenery over a hot cup of coffee or a scoop of gelato, thanks to the recent opening of a café right next door.
Aptly named “The Next Door to Little Eden Succulents”, the café serves as a refreshing refuge for weary city folk seeking a touch of calm away from the stresses of urban life.
“We thought our shop was getting quite crowded with all the plants there. So we figured, why not extend our space next door? Customers can have a relaxing time, and we can have workshops and healing sessions there,” founder Lim Yee Zhing told FMT Lifestyle.

About nine years ago, Lim’s life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease.
The former architect, who used to work in the construction sector, felt she needed to make healthy changes in her life, and in the process, she discovered the therapeutic power of plants.
The more time she spent among them, the calmer she felt. It wasn’t long before she decided to open the first “Little Eden Succulents” at a studio in Petaling Jaya.
“Before my diagnosis, I was even scared of plants! Now I think they’re really cute. And I’d like to share with other people the joy they’ve given me,” Lim, 32, said with a laugh.
Thankfully, Lim’s condition is stable today. Her love for plants, however, has continued to grow.
Today, her shop has four branches all over the Klang Valley. And “The Next Door” café marks Lim’s first foray into the F&B business.

True to its nature as a plant café, the venue is lush and overflowing with greenery. Wide windows let in an abundance of warm sunlight for both people and plants to enjoy, while earthy brown hues and natural wood textures create a soothing and organic atmosphere.
The space’s intimate vibes make it an ideal spot for activities such as healing sessions and DIY terrarium workshops. The café hosts team-building activities, moonlight painting and canvas paint-by-numbers sessions.
Visitors can also amuse themselves with board games, or purchase plant or gardening supplies from the café’s well-stocked shelves.
And if all the greenery here awakens their inner gardener, they can always head next door to “Little Eden Succulents” to take a new green friend home.
On the menu is a range of café staples, each dish reflecting Lim’s personal favourites.

The waffles are best sellers: the Choco Nutella Indulgence Waffle is exactly what it claims: a luscious sweet treat layered with chocolate drizzle and whipped cream.
A highlight is the Gelato Dream Waffle, which combines a crisp golden crust with generous scoops of gelato, topped with seasonal fruits for a decadent delight that melts in one’s mouth.
The café also serves breakfast and snacks like Healthy Granola Bowls and garden salads. For those seeking their just desserts, however, there are treats such as Butter Banana Cake and Honey Yuzu Gelato Fruit Cups available.
With its harmonious blend of greenery and comforting food, Lim said she hopes “The Next Door” will offer more than just a café experience, but serve as a sanctuary where people can unwind and discover the joy of plants.
“Plants offer unconditional love. In a way, they are just like pets, except they are much easier to care for. They don’t need that much looking after, but they return so much more in love,” she said.
