Performance of empowerment

FMT Lifestyle was there to catch the high-energy live performance by rapper Aman RA who sang his hit song “Bangun X Kita Bagi Jadi”, a collaboration with CIMB.

Accompanying him on stage were three street dancers, hyping up the crowd as they chanted the infectious hook, “Bangun! Kita Bagi Jadi!”

“It was very lively. I did not anticipate that the event would have attracted this big of a crowd from locals and tourists alike,” said Siti Hafizah, 20, from Shah Alam.

During his performance, Aman RA told the crowd that the message behind his song was simple yet powerful: never give up pursuing what you really want in life.

He also thanked CIMB for the opportunity they gave him to empower others to always chase their dreams and keep moving forward.

A market of local talent

One of the objectives of “Dendang Desa” by CIMB OCTOFest is its commitment to local talent. The curated space provided a meaningful platform for small businesses, featuring everything from handmade heritage goods and unique local fashion to local food like gula apong ice cream and other popular street food.

Beyond giving local vendors a space to showcase their products, these businesspeople were also introduced to SME banking solutions such as the CIMB OCTOBiz platform, to help them grow their businesses even further.

This initiative by CIMB not only celebrates the diversity of Malaysian culture at the heart of tourist spots but also empowers local entrepreneurs to thrive.
