Muhammad Hafeez Husin, 40, created “Tuisyen Abah” not only to help school students deepen their knowledge of Islam but also to encourage parents to take part in their children’s learning process.
“My goal is not to make money but to share knowledge. Many parents tend to overlook Islamic studies and Arabic because they’re not part of major exams, even though religious and moral values are the true foundation of success,” he told Bernama.
He said the classes are streamed live on TikTok every night from Sunday to Friday from 8.30pm for an hour, with the lessons based on the syllabus set by the education ministry.
According to Hafeez, special emphasis is given to the recitation of the Quran and Jawi writing as both form the basis for understanding key topics such as faith (akidah), hadith, and worship.
“Reading and writing in Jawi are very important. If students struggle with Jawi, they’ll find it difficult to grasp the contents of Islamic studies. So, I focus on one subtopic each night to make it easier for them to understand,” said the former substitute teacher who has taught in several schools.
Hafeez, who has a degree in Islamic Shariah from Al-Azhar University in Egypt, said the response to his online classes has been very encouraging, with over 50 participants joining each live session.

He added that the RM1 fee is largely symbolic, as his main goal is for children to gain meaningful knowledge and values.
In addition to the live sessions, he plans to produce short educational video notes priced between RM3 and RM5 as revision materials, and incorporate more interactive elements into his lessons.
“I see this as an investment for the hereafter. Even if it’s just an hour a night, as long as it brings a positive impact to the children, that’s more than enough,” he said.
Hafeez eventually hopes to expand his small initiative into a physical tuition centre focused on delivering religious education.
