Taylor’s University is ranked 253rd in the QS World University Rankings 2026, maintaining its position as Southeast Asia’s top-ranked non-government-linked private university.

Taylor’s strong, continuous QS ranking performance drives a bold 10-year strategic plan to transform the university into a future-ready, globally recognised institution.
PETALING JAYA:
Taylor’s University has secured its place among the top 1% of universities worldwide, ranking 253rd globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026 for the eighth consecutive year.

This ranking affirms Taylor’s position as the top non-government-linked private university in Southeast Asia, recognised not just for academic excellence but for its industry relevance, international outlook, and transformative learning experiences.

Preparing graduates for the real world and the future

At Taylor’s, world-class education means preparing students for an increasingly complex and connected world. It aims to nurture graduates who are job and future-ready.

“We aim to empower students, align research with national goals, and build partnerships that drive meaningful change,” Taylor’s University vice-chancellor and president professor Barry Winn said.

The university’s 99.5% graduate employability rate, as recorded by the higher education ministry’s 2024 Graduate Tracer Study, is a clear testament to this. It far exceeds the national average of 92.5%, and is reinforced by Taylor’s global Top 100 ranking in employer reputation.

An immersive learning ecosystem

So, how does Taylor’s find its edge in the market? It starts with an industry-informed curriculum, co-created with sector leaders to ensure relevance.

From day one, students engage in real-world projects and internships, building meaningful connections with faculty, mentors, and industry experts that give them a head start in their careers.

A standout example of Taylor’s immersive education is the Taylor’s Culinary Institute (TCI), one of Southeast Asia’s premier culinary schools.

TCI combines hands-on training with entrepreneurial thinking, providing students with exclusive access to Michelin-starred chefs through initiatives like the Michelin Star Series at The Datai Langkawi.

Renowned chefs, including French culinary legend Michel Bras, Rikard Hult, and Marc Viala from L’Epicurien Albi, as well as two-Michelin-starred chef Franck Putelat and three-Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura, have led workshops and masterclasses on campus.

Students also secure internships at Michelin-starred restaurants across France, Spain, Japan, and the US, gaining real-world experience in high-pressure kitchens.

With additional training in sustainable gastronomy, global trends, and culinary business, TCI graduates are prepared to lead in today’s evolving food industry.

Learning from world leaders

Taylor enhances its academic experience through its Adjunct Professors and Industry Advisory Panel (IAP), which connects students with global thought leaders.

A notable figure is Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, Dr José Ramos-Horta, who serves as an Honorary Adjunct Professor for the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) (Hons) programme.

In addition to delivering lectures, these experts mentor students, guide research, and shape the curriculum, ensuring Taylor’s education remains globally relevant and future-focused.

Shaping the future of higher education

For Taylor’s University, a true world-class education runs far deeper than numbers alone. By aligning with national priorities and nurturing globally minded graduates, the university exceeds expectations – delivering a world-class education that combines academic excellence, global exposure, and real-world impact.
