On Valentine’s Day this year, Rolls Royce unveiled the Spectre Soulmate, a deeply personal bespoke motor car specially designed by the couple, whose story began in Kuala Lumpur on March 19, 1969.
Subtle references to their love, achievements and shared story have been skilfully integrated into the car’s elegant aesthetic.
The air vent on the driver’s side is engraved with the date of the start of the couple’s journey together, while its passenger side air vent is inscribed with the car’s commission date and coordinates of the home of Rolls‑Royce in Goodwood, England.

Inside, a Bespoke Starlight Headliner depicts the night sky as it appeared over Kuala Lumpur on the day the couple’s life story began. Each constellation is highlighted in running-stitch embroidery.
It’s an apt representation of a romance seemingly written in the stars, as the couple were born three days apart from each other at the same hospital!
The show-stopping vehicle also sports illuminated treadplates bearing the couple’s names, with his on the driver’s side, and hers on the passenger side.

Its exterior features a striking two-tone dark emerald finish, with a black upper section elegantly complemented by a hand-painted seashell coachline.
This exquisite colour scheme was personally selected by the couple’s daughter, adding an extra touch of sentimentality to its overall design.
The Spectre Soulmate is a fitting tribute to the love of this couple, and a beautiful realisation of a dream 45 years in the making.

The couple have been ardent Rolls Royce admirers since their childhoods: at 10 years old, they even wrote letters to the car company’s CEO, sparking a connection which led to them becoming clients of the brand.
No details as to the couple’s identity have been released so far. Here’s hoping that they continue having a beautiful journey together, with their beautiful car!
