Last month, FMT Lifestyle highlighted the struggles of their family. Battling eviction, injuries, and poverty, Ragunathan Subramaniam and Krishnavany Rajendran feared for their children’s future.
The heartfelt story of their resilience and the boys’ quiet longing for normalcy touched many. Since the article was published, donations have poured in from kind-hearted Malaysians, with some RM173,980 raised as of Jan 9.
This amount will go a long way towards giving the family a fresh start. The funds will help Ragunathan and Krishnavany purchase proper furniture for their house, including tables, chairs and beds.
For the boys, this means more than just comfort – it’s a chance to live like other children their age. They’ll now have new clothes, toys and books – a luxury they once only dreamed of.

For Ragunathan and Krishnavany, the outpouring of support is a turning point. After months of struggling to provide even basic necessities for their boys, they can now focus on building a more stable future.
This means Ragunathan, whose chronic spinal pain limits his ability to work, can finally afford proper rehabilitation and medical care. Meanwhile, Krishnavany, who works at a bakery factory, can finally create a warm and nurturing environment for their children.
Above all, the couple is determined to give their boys the education and opportunities they deserve.
The family is being assisted by Suriana Welfare Society Malaysia, and Krishnavany is thankful for the pivotal role played by the NGO. “If I call them, they are willing to step forward to help us, no matter the situation,” she said, her voice brimming with gratitude.
She also expressed her heartfelt appreciation to FMT and fellow Malaysians on behalf of her family. “We are forever thankful and grateful for all the help.”
Suriana Welfare Society Malaysia is continuing to accept donations for Ragunathan and his family, in a bid to raise an overall total of RM200,000.
