This offer, available exclusively on the Google Store, concerns painstakingly reconditioned phones, for which the battery, casing and screens have been inspected and, if necessary, replaced.

What’s more, each phone benefits from the very latest version of Android before being packed into a new box. When all is said and done, the refurbished smartphone arrives with a one-year warranty and looks almost as good as new.

This programme has been set up with the aim of reducing electronic waste. It follows other Google initiatives to safeguard the environment, such as the use of plastic-free packaging for all new Pixel, Fitbit and Nest devices.

Apple and Samsung, the world’s two biggest sellers of smartphones, already offer a refurbished phone sales service. It’s worth noting that the battery in their refurbished devices is systematically replaced by a new one.

As part of its commitment to offering sustainable models that last, Google is also present on the iFixit platform, where you can buy repair kits for your Pixel.

The idea is to be able to replace a part of your phone without having to buy a new device. The kits on sale on iFixit include both the part and the tools needed to replace it.
