In today’s digital environment and heavy reliance on the Internet of Things, digital literacy has become increasingly important for navigating the web responsibly and safely. It empowers users to critically evaluate online content, protect their privacy, and engage in ethical online behaviour. Mindful use of online platforms is key to fostering a healthier digital space.

Recognising the potential harm of the internet when used irresponsibly, TikTok Malaysia has partnered with the Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF), All Women’s Action Society (Awam), and Mental Illness Awareness and Support Association (Miasa) to launch the #ThinkTwice campaign.

This collaboration is aimed at promoting digital literacy among Malaysians for a safer, more positive online environment. It includes educating users on responsible internet use, adherence to TikTok’s Community Guidelines, identifying and reporting content violations, and using Comment Care..

To further support this initiative, TikTok has introduced an accessible resource hub offering educational content on its Community Guidelines, safety feature guides, and NGO support channels, ensuring users stay informed and protected online.

Be part of the effort to inspire others to practise kindness and respect in the digital space.

TikTok creators such as @yimotapir, @wfsufina and @ggatorart have been actively advocating for responsible online behaviour and highlighting TikTok’s safety tools as part of the #ThinkTwice campaign.

In conjunction with World Mental Health Day on Oct 10, TikTok is continuing its #ThinkTwice commitment with a special series of LIVE sessions hosted on TikTok’s official LIVE account, @tiktoklive_my, running from today (Oct 8) to Thursday (Oct 10) from 8pm to 10pm.

This series aims to promote mental health awareness and create a more positive online community for both creators and audiences. It features TikTok’s partners and prominent creators and winners from TikTok’s GimmeTheMic 2024 and TikTok Awards 2024.
