Taking place at Stadium Hoki National in Bukit Jalil, the concert, organised by DMY Creations, promises to be a celebration of Prakash’s best work from close to 100 films.
In town recently to promote his upcoming movie “Amaran”, the 37-year-old took a moment to chat with FMT Lifestyle.
“It’s my first concert abroad. I’m very excited it’s happening in Kuala Lumpur,” he said, adding that his first-ever live concert took place last year in Coimbatore, India, and was a massive success.
“We sold more than 75,000 tickets, and the stadium was overflowing. I hope we repeat the same magic here.”
Having visited Malaysia multiple times over the years, he expressed a deep affection for our country. “I get the same feeling as being in Tamil Nadu,” he said with a smile.
Asked what he loves most about Malaysia, he replied: “The people. They are always so warm and sweet, so I’m very happy to perform for them.”

Prakash is expected to take the stage alongside an impressive lineup that includes renowned singers like Saindhavi, Haricharan, and Tippu.
In fact, during the promotional event for “Amaran” on Sept 27, he sang a few lines from his hit song “Yathe Yathe” in an impromptu performance, much to the excitement of fans who filled Anggun City Mall in Rawang.
The nephew of A R Rahman has carved out his own legacy as a composer. From high-energy beats like “Kutti Pisase” to heart-wrenching tracks such as “Ellu Vaya Pookalaye”, his range is impressive.
In recent years, he has also found success as an actor.
So, what can fans look forward to in December? Apart from recent hit songs such as “Golden Sparrow” and “Minikki”, his iconic musical scores will also fire up the stage.
“They can definitely expect ‘Celebration of Life’ from ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, and the bike theme from ‘Polladhavan’,” he teased.
Finally, Prakash said he’s keeping an eye on social media for fan requests and suggestions leading up to the concert. “Whatever the people of Malaysia want, I’ll perform!”
