The new shared values – a culture statement for KPJ – represented by the acronym C.A.R.E, are designed to transform the workplace.
The values comprise: Committed – being dedicated to achieving shared goals and vision; Accountable – having ownership and integrity in actions; Respectful – valuing diversity and dignity with courtesy; and Excellent – delivering exceptional quality and performance.
Shaping the expected behaviours and desired culture for KPJ Healthcare, these values will form the foundation for the Group’s aim to be the preferred healthcare partner for its patients.
The Group recently embarked on a transformation journey based on five key initiatives – Asset Optimisation, New Sources of Growth, Digital First, Rebranding and Culture Transformation. The first three are ongoing, while rebranding and culture transformation will commence in the second half of 2024.
“At KPJ Healthcare, our new shared values reflect our dedication to providing exceptional, patient-centric care and fostering an inclusive and innovative workplace.”
“These values are more than just words – they are commitments that will drive our actions and decisions every day. These are also part of our change management process. As we push ourselves to be a high-performance organisation, the event today is significant as we get Team KPJ to be onboard in this journey together,” said Chin Keat Chyuan, president & managing director of KPJ Healthcare Berhad.
To ensure that these values are adopted throughout the organisation, KPJ Healthcare will launch targeted training programmes for leaders and employees.
These programmes will focus on enhancing skills in patient care, teamwork, leadership and ethical decision-making. Leaders will actively demonstrate these values and encourage their teams to do the same, reinforcing the desired culture.
In addition to training, KPJ Healthcare is making changes to its systems and processes to support these values. This includes adopting advanced software systems like Workday for human resources, ARIBA for procurement and nHIS for healthcare information. These tools will streamline operations, enhance transparency and improve collaboration within the organisation.
KPJ Healthcare is also introducing new performance standards with a focus on recognising and rewarding excellence, aiming to create a motivated and high-performing workforce.
These efforts will ensure that KPJ Healthcare lives up to its C.A.R.E principles – being committed, accountable, respectful and excellent in all aspects of its operations.
The Group is also set to launch its new brand on Aug 6, 2024, symbolising its renewed commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare.
