TikTok Shop empowers local creators to hit RM1mil in a day

Super Creator Day campaign provides resources and exclusive opportunities to help creators achieve higher sales and fan base growth.

You may be familiar with TikTok Shop creators who promote and sell items through TikTok’s in-app shop feature.

Known as TikTok Shop, it enables merchants and creators to showcase and sell products to the TikTok community, complete with an option to purchase directly on the app.

In an effort to elevate local sellers and empower creators, TikTok Shop launched its Super Creator Day campaign earlier this year.

Since January, 51 top-tier creators in Malaysia have been invited to go live as part of TikTok Shop’s exclusive campaign, which provides them with an official showcase, a personalised business development or merchandise plan, and top products to sell during the live session.

Creators for the Super Creator Day campaign are also supported by traffic resources and publicity opportunities, which help them achieve higher GMV and fan base growth.

In a nutshell, TikTok Shop scouts potential creators, then equips them with resources and personalised merchandising to propel them to become ‘Super Creators.’

To date, the campaign has resulted in a GMV uplift of 1,089%.

Nurliza Ahmad (@nl.alchemist), for instance, achieved RM1 million in sales within a single live session. The independent cosmetic chemist is a full-time affiliate creator on TikTok Shop, and also provides skincare consultation via livestream.

For Huda Ahmad, or Tulippetals (@tulippetals), she started off as a humble business focusing on children’s education materials. However, she garnered huge exposure and saw her sales booming after marketing her products on TikTok Shop.

Thanks to TikTok Shop, Huda became the first creator to hit RM2 million within two days of a 16-hour non-stop livestream. Her best-selling product, MASDORA 999.9 1 Diner (4.25pm) – Haji Collection 3 (Emas 999.9), was launched exclusively for her brand, resulting in 81% of her total GMV.

Other creators like Mijaisa (@mija.jah) saw a 60% uplift in sales the month after joining the Super Creator Day, while ANAS (@anaszahrin) sold over 24,000 units of makeup sets, generating over RM1 million in sales.

Besides creators, brands and merchants can also partner with super top-tier creators. For instance, Dear Carynn (@dearcarynn) helped Montigo break its affiliate marketing record of highest sales achieved in a single livestream, garnering RM90,000 in five hours.

Ultimately, Super Creator Day is a chance for creators to propel themselves and grow in terms of e-commerce sales.

Creators will need to meet the entry threshold, such as having the highest Daily Active Gross Merchandise Value (DAGMV) within a certain period, to be eligible for the Super Creator Day campaign.

There are six tiers for creators to challenge, ranging from RM160,000 to RM1 million.
