The famous reality TV personality has signed an exclusive contract with X to host a 26-episode filmed podcast to be broadcast from next fall.
In a tweet posted on June 20, 2024, Khloé Kardashian expressed her excitement at the prospect of embarking on this new project: “I’m so excited to share that I’m launching my first video podcast series this fall! This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I can’t wait. We have a lot to talk about, more to come soon.”
According to X, this new video podcast will be an opportunity for Khloé Kardashian to combine her “boundary-pushing sense of humour with her signature relatability to tackle dilemmas ranging from the everyday to the ever absurd.”
This new video podcast is part of X’s strategy to position itself as a leading video content platform, notably by launching its own TV app. The platform previously announced the launch of new programming dubbed “Originals on X,” allowing creators to post their content on other platforms 24 hours after its exclusive release on the X platform.
While the Kardashian family still has its reality show on Disney+/Hulu, there’s no indication that Khloé’s video podcast will ever be available on these platforms.
Elon Musk has taken a gamble on the Kardashians’ influence and popularity, since not all previous X partnership projects have not proved a great success.
The platform has signed deals with Paris Hilton, Tucker Carlson – whose interviews notch up millions of views, Don Lemon, Tulsi Gabbard, Jim Rome, WWE and the Big3 basketball league.
It remains to be seen whether Khloé Kardashian’s new video podcast will be a success and enable X to position itself as a video content platform capable of competing with YouTube or Instagram, which now outpace Netflix in some countries.
