“She is very afraid of strangers and hides when they come. In fact, you won’t even know I have a cat in the house if I didn’t tell you,” veterinarian Dr Eve Foong told FMT Lifestyle.
Foong said Luna was a stray who she brought home one day when the cat showed up with a severely injured tail.

Despite caring for the cat in her moment of need, it is not the doctor but the doctor’s father who Luna loves more. She “talks” to him and rushes to him whenever he calls, running to Foong only when she’s hungry or ready to sleep at night.
Nevertheless, Luna still adores Foong and waits for her to return from work every day, laying by the door for tummy scratches the moment Foong walks in.
Like most cats, Luna doesn’t openly show her affection. For her, occupying the same room as Foong is her way of saying: “I love you.” This attitude, Foong said jokingly, is what the Japanese refer to as Tsundere, referring to one who appears tough on the outside but who is a softie inside.

An avid bird-watcher, nothing pleases Luna more than watching birds fly past her window. She also likes going for walks and dutifully dons her harness and leash without putting up a fuss.
She is also a smart cat, mindful of her humans’ displeasure at her using their sofa as her personal scratching post. So she restrains herself from disappointing them although the temptation is great when no one’s looking.

When the day’s activities come to an end, Luna settles for the night in Foong’s room, curled up in a comfy lazy chair. “She has her own bed, but she doesn’t sleep in it for some reason,” Foong said, shaking her head.
Bent on earning her keep, Luna puts her hunting skills to good use, snaring cockroaches and lizards with her quick movements and deathly sharp claws.
“She shows her love to us on her own terms, and we love her for that.”
