
The award ceremony, held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), celebrated the outstanding contributions of key players in the Malaysian esports ecosystem.
Organised by Alive Asia Events, in collaboration with the youth and sports ministry, Malaysia Esports Federation, and EsportsIntegrated, the award ceremony brought together a panel of 22 esteemed judges.
The panel included well-known figures in the esports community such as MasterRamen, Farouq (Flava) and Abang Lord.
Voting for the award category nominations took place before the event, with the final winners determined by the panel of judges to ensure a fair and transparent selection process.
The Esports Media of the Year category recognises media entities that have demonstrated excellence and innovation, as well as those that left a significant impact within the esports landscape.
MGO faced competition from notable nominees, including WTM Today, Arked MY, Gamers Gazette MY and Esportsmy.
The media platform stood out among the contenders by showcasing their commitment to quality content, community engagement and overall excellence in esports media.
“Alhamdulillah, starting out as an esports journalist, I never thought I would come this far. Thanks to everyone in esports who trusted our platform and abilities. Let’s keep pushing esports forward for our nation,” said Hazril Md Nor, esports journalist and senior content specialist at MGO.

Meanwhile, chief executive officer at REV Media Group, Samuel Wee, said: “We are thrilled and honoured to receive the Esports Media of the Year Award at the Malaysia Esports Awards. This recognition is a testament to our team’s dedication to delivering top-notch content and fostering the growth of esports in Malaysia.”
The Malaysia Esports Awards not only highlighted the achievements of outstanding media organisations, but also celebrated excellence in 16 categories, including Esports Team of the Year, Player of the Year (Male) and (Female) and Organisation of the Year.
Other notable winners included Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang, who won three awards: Player of the Year (Male), MVP of the Year and MOBA Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, Natasha “Tashbunny” Hashim received the Esports Host of the Year Award.
