However, erectile dysfunction or ED is more common than most think – and nothing to be ashamed of.
Commonly known as impotence, ED is defined as the inability to develop or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance.
“While Viagra and other pills of a similar nature have helped men overcome ED relatively well, the side effects from pharmaceutical drugs can raise one’s blood pressure or trigger migraines among others,” said Dr Nadzri, an anti-ageing and functional medicine practitioner.
Nadzri is also the founder of the state-of-the-art Apollo Men’s Wellness Centre located in Kuala Lumpur.
He said that what’s even more worrying is that over time, patients build a tolerance for ED drugs and may therefore require even higher dosages to achieve the same effects.

Now a breakthrough treatment using ultrasound waves called Electro Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) can help those afflicted with ED to increase the vascularity of their penile shaft.
“The unique selling point of ESWT is that we offer an integrative solution, as opposed to just regular pharmaceutical drugs that most conventional doctors use,” said Nadzri.
He said that ESWT is a useful treatment for those afflicted with ED triggered by poor blood supply, or damaged blood supply due to diabetes, chronic smoking, or certain medications that they are on.
Patients are assessed prior to the treatment, to gauge how many ESWT treatments are required. The treatment is also absolutely pain-free.
“We assess the patient from all aspects, be it hormonal, psychological, the nervous system health, circulation, and physical health.
“There is a treatment intervention and plan for each and every aspect with the use of hormonal replacement, counselling, homeopathy and low dose medicine, oxygenation therapy and nutrition, as well as the use of peptides, cytokines and stem cells,” Nadzri said.
“I feel a sense of joy and fulfilment in providing these services to men experiencing ED. They likely feel a sense of despair at their condition. Some even sink into depression when no solution is in sight,” he said.

All it takes is six painless, 15-minutes ESWT sessions once a week to restore the vitality of a man battling ED, he added. The treatment is also FDA-approved.
“Our comprehensive approach includes hormonal evaluation, psychological support, circulatory improvement, and personalised interventions with homeopathy.
“The treatment also includes low-dose medicine, oxygenation therapy, nutrition, peptides, cytokines, and stem cells, providing a unique integrative solution beyond conventional pharmaceuticals,” Nadzri said.
Those hoping to find a real, safe and painless solution to ED are advised to make an appointment with Nadzri at Apollo for a thorough health assessment before trying out the ESWT treatment there.
