About five years ago, artist Jennifer Teh and her partner, Jonathan Lee, made the decision to adopt – a pet, that is.
With their minds made up, they headed to the neighbourhood pet shop hoping to meet a fluffy little creature ready to be taken home.
And just as they hoped, hopping around in a cage was a young Angora Mix rabbit with soft, fluffy fur. It was love at first sight when Teh laid eyes on the little critter.

“Lola is our rabbit’s name,” Teh told FMT Lifestyle. “We named her that because of the well-known bunny character from Warner Bros’ ‘Space Jam’ and the ‘Looney Tunes’ franchise.”
Indeed, Lola has the same tan fur as her cartoon counterpart, and she is every bit as sweet-natured as her as well.
When she was first purchased, Lola was actually ailing. “Despite acknowledging her minor skin issues, we wanted to bring her home and take better care of her,” Teh explained.

The artist also added that while she personally has not much experience in caring for rabbits, her now-husband Lee had two rabbits previously.
Nowadays, Lola spends a rather carefree time as the beloved pet of her owners’ household, where her every whim and fancy is met with the blink of an eye.
Surprisingly enough, the rabbit is not particularly fond of carrots; bananas on the other hand are fair game. “Lola goes bananas for bananas!” Teh joked.

While she is kept in a cage on certain occasions, Lola is often let out to run freely through the living room.
Quite regularly, she is given free rein of the backyard garden. Teh said: “It’s essential for her to run around and exercise that way.”
While she is a sweet rabbit, she has her flaws. For one, no plant in the garden is safe if the lagomorphic lawnmower is let loose.

“She is a masterful escape artist,” Teh grumbled. Already many plants have fallen victim to the rabbit’s chompers, with big and small plants equally victimised.
So, is Lola about to get her Bugs Bunny partner any time soon? Well, unfortunately not, as Teh and Lee apparently haven’t considered adding another rabbit to the hutch.
Either way, perhaps it’s best that Lola be left to fly solo. After all, one rabbit destroying the garden is one rabbit enough!
