Have fun and find a new furry friend at the Ruff Love’s adoption drive

If you’re looking for a new companion to liven up your home, or are simply an animal lover, drop by Paws & Cocktails: An Animal Adoption Drive happening in Solaris Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, this weekend!

Organised by animal rescue organisation Ruff Love at Jama KL, the event will also feature fun activities such as a pet costume contest, a pet market, and the chance to enjoy specially curated cocktails.

“Attendees will have the opportunity to meet adorable animals in need of a forever home, forging connections that can change lives,” said Ruff Love founder Gabrielle Geetha.

“In addition to the adoption drive, the event aims to celebrate the bond between pets and their owners by inviting them to participate in fun activities with their beloved furry companions.”

Established in 2021, Ruff Love is dedicated to rescuing, nurturing and finding homes for abandoned and stray animals.

Their mission is to make a lasting impact on the stray population in the Klang Valley by vaccinating, spaying and rehoming all the animals they rescue.

Visitors are invited to stop by the Find Love, Save Lives Adoption Drive, where a designated area has been set up for potential adopters to meet and greet the adorable animals that are seeking forever homes.

Those seeking a new member for their family can speak to the friendly volunteers, who will provide all the information to facilitate a successful adoption.

Also make sure to stop by the Pawsome Pet Market, where local brands will showcase a variety of pet products and supplies. A percentage of sale proceeds will be contributed to Ruff Love.

Visitors can also come by the dedicated bar area to enjoy a selection of drinks from the Tong Woh Group, curated by Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

Visit Perrier and Giffard Syrups & Liqueurs, who will be setting up a cart at the venue. Or wet your whistle with the Maple Mule, Malaysian Trilogy, or Open Sesame – three cocktails specially created by Ivon Soon from The Vault.

All proceeds will go towards supporting Ruff Love’s rescue efforts.

Another highlight will be the Fashionable Furry Fun Pet Costume Contest, where pet owners are invited to dress their furkids up in creative outfits. Registration starts at 12pm on the event day, with results announced at 3pm.

Guests will get to evaluate costumes based on creativity, originality, and overall presentation. They will then vote for the winners, who will receive prizes from Ruff Love’s brand partners.

Overall, Geetha hopes visitors will have a great time here with their animal companions.

“This event is very much in line with our vision: to create a Malaysia where no animal is left homeless or neglected, and every furry companion finds warmth, love and care,” she concluded.
