Grammy nominee Gipsy Kings to perform at Rainforest festival

Jamaican band Big Mountain, known for their remake of Peter Frampton’s “Baby, I Love Your Way”, has also been lined up.

KUCHING:
Sarawak’s Rainforest music festival, which resumes this year, will feature Grammy award nominee Gipsy Kings from France, and Jamaican band Big Mountain.

Big Mountain are known for their remake of Peter Frampton’s “Baby, I Love Your Way”.

The Rainforest festival will be held from June 23-25 at the Sarawak Cultural Village.

Sarawak’s state minister for tourism, creative industry and performing arts, Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, said the festival will feature 96 musicians from 12 countries, who will perform a diverse range of music genres.

The musicians are from Tanzania, Maldives, Iran, Jamaica, the United Kingdom, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, France, Hong Kong and Singapore.
