From March 23 to April 21, Chek’s Coffee House is pulling out all the stops for their ‘Santapan Rasa Sayang 2023 Buffet Dinner’.

Bigger, better and with even more nostalgic dishes than before, the restaurant itself offers a comfortable and luxurious dining experience, suited for intimate family get-togethers this Ramadan.

This year, the spotlight is on lead chef Arih Ahmad, who will be serving a piece of his childhood.

Daging Bakar Masak Lemak is a Negeri Sembilan classic and for the experienced chef, it brings back memories of his mother’s wholesome, hearty cooking.

A spicy and creamy dish, the smoked meat is flavourful with a distinctive rich and smoky taste – a truly traditional dish that satisfies the appetite.

Not a fan of beef? Then, have some tender, juicy Kambing Golek which features an entire grilled lamb. The chef on duty is ever ready to slice you the cut you like most as well as suggest the best condiments to enjoy it with.

Sup Gear Box is a crowd-favourite, especially among folks who know how to savour tasty bone marrow. (Muhaimin Marwan @ FMT Lifestyle)

Is it really a Ramadhan buffet without ketupat? Well, here, you can enjoy as many Ketupat Palas as you wish, preferably with a generous serving of Rendang Ayam.

There’s plenty of Satay to go around as well; and don’t forget to slather the grilled meat with that addictive peanut sauce!

There’s even the ever-popular Ikan Bakar, served with a thick spicy paste. Better get a serving of that before the tray is picked clean.

If you’re looking for something to spice up your life, check out the restaurant’s Gear Box Soup, a delicious broth that is filling and comforting.

If you love bone marrow, be sure to pick out the knee joints within the soup. You might want to look for a straw before sucking away on the marrow.

Street food is much loved by Malaysians, and Avante is catering to that love with stalls serving fresh and hot Roti John and Shawarma.

The Roti John omelette sandwich is definitely up to par with your favourite mamak stall, with plenty of sauce oozing out together with the egg.

Each roll of the Shawarma is filled with generous amounts of meat. And should you wish to customise your order, the chef on duty will oblige.

Besides Malaysian delights, there’s sashimi and sushi from distant Japan, clearly a crowd-favourite as the trays keep emptying as fast as the staff can replenish them.

There is also seafood for folks hankering for Black Pepper Fried Crabs and Sweet & Sour Squid – so go ahead and dig in.

A cold and refreshing Ais Kacang is a great way to end a scrumptious meal. (Muhaimin Marwan @ FMT Lifestyle)

Snacks anyone? You’ll love the stalls serving crispy Apam Balik and Goreng Pisang, Cekodok, Keledek and Cucur Bilis.

The range of pastries, cakes and jellies is also eye-catching and you will be lost for choice at which of these pretty confections you ought to try first.
