On Nov 19, Malaysians across the country exercised their rights by casting their votes for GE15.

From the announcement of GE15 to voting day and election results, Malaysians followed online portal MyUndi to keep track of the latest GE15 happenings.

As such, MyUndi was among the highest searches, ranking fifth place in the Top Trending Searches in Malaysia for the year by Google.

MyUndi, which REV Media Group introduced in 2018 during GE14, is a comprehensive one-stop portal for engaging election news, stories, videos, infographics and more.

In short, it’s a platform for Malaysians, especially first-time voters, to retrieve all election-related content and updates.

To educate Malaysians about the election process, MyUndi also provided many articles about the candidates, parties and more.

Along the way, MyUndi garnered more than 50 million page views, a significant increase not just in page views but also in unique views for publications on the portal.

REV Media Group’s digital sites, which include Free Malaysia Today, New Straits Times, Berita Harian and more, saw tremendous growth compared to GE14 in 2018.

The number of users on the platform increased by 85%, while the page views improved by 316%.

In fact, during election night alone, the digital sites had a total number of 10.4 million visitors.

This figure is about 50% of Malaysia’s total internet population, according to Comscore Internet Audience Data for Malaysia in September 2022.

MyUndi also had a new feature, Suara Kita, which allowed Malaysians to voice their opinions and ideas regarding the new government.

These data points and mapping contributed to the company’s REV ID, an in-house proprietary solution that powers first-party data collection. This allowed REV Media Group to optimise content reach and conversion through the election period.

Besides that, the first-party data, combined with the traffic during GE15 enabled REV Media Group to enrich their first-party data collection and, in future, execute more targeted campaigns with better conversion.

As Malaysia’s largest digital media publisher, REV Media Group delivered insightful and engaging information during the election period to Malaysians, gaining 82 million impressions through all of their digital sites.

With the upcoming state election in 2023 for selected states, REV Media Group will be able to provide a better experience to the voters via their platform, as well as higher value to brands and clients by maximising first-party data with REV ID.
