PARIS:
On Twitter, users can already choose between the reverse-chronological feed, which displays the latest tweets published by the accounts a user follows, and the algorithm-driven feed, which selects tweets according to a user’s profile.

While this option was launched in 2018, Twitter has just announced an improvement for iOS users.

Indeed, they will be among the first to be able to switch from one feed to another with a simple swipe of the finger.

This swipe action will allow users to more easily discover their different news feeds and avoid any FOMO, or Fear Of Missing Out, a feeling often shared by users of social networks.

Twitter said that this new feature will roll out “soon” for the Android application and on the web, without giving a specific date.

Previously, users could change their default news feed by clicking on the sparkle icon in the top right of the home page when opening the Twitter application, and choosing between “Latest Tweets” and “Home.”

Even when closing the application, this choice was then retained.

Twitter is not the only social network to bring back the chronological feed. Instagram is also working on the return of its chronological timeline – an option widely requested by users for fear of missing the latest posts from accounts they follow.
