Models in the Icon Impact collection are also made using sugar cane and recycled plastic, helping to reduce the brand’s environmental footprint.

Wool – the UGG brand’s most-used fibre – can be water and energy intensive, and generate a lot of polluting waste when it is not – or no longer – used.

To reduce waste and minimise its impact on the planet, UGG has chosen to recover wool waste, in other words, wool that would have ended up in the trash, to give it a new lease of life.

This is made possible thanks to two innovations developed by the brand, UGGplush and UGGcycle, which transform the recovered wool waste into new materials.

This initiative has now given rise to the Icon Impact collection.

Comprising three models – the Fluff Sugar Cross Slide, the Fuzz Sugar Slide and the Classic Sugar Ultra Mini – the range is largely made with processed wool waste, thus significantly reducing water and energy consumption, as well as carbon emissions, compared to virgin wool.

Since the brand’s iconic ankle boots and other footwear are not made entirely from wool, UGG has sourced other, eco-friendly materials for this collection, such as SugarSole foam made from sugar cane, and sustainable PET from recycled plastic bottles.
