The entrepreneur has chosen to follow a new, more sustainable approach to fashion with eco-responsible clothing made in France that supports several global causes.
All Arkhé Paris shirts are made of Oeko-Tex certified cotton from a Greek cooperative, where it is spun and woven before being sent to France to be made into t-shirts.
“The cotton is sent to France by train to limit its environmental impact,” Arkhé Paris said in a statement.
This environmental commitment is coupled with a social one, since the manufacture of each of these t-shirts promotes social inclusion.
Through its collaboration with garment manufacturer Low Impact, “the production of these t-shirts enables 190 young people across France to receive textile-industry training”, the brand added.
Voluntarily gender-neutral, this minimalist collection draws its inspiration from the six continents, each one represented by a non-profit organisation to which a portion of the sales price is dedicated.
For example, the Hanoi t-shirt, paying tribute to Asia, supports the association Grain de Riz Grain de Vie (GRGV), which works for access to education for children on the continent.
The Paris t-shirt supports the LGBTQI+ association Urgence Homophobie, while the Nairobi t-shirt benefits the Equipop NGO, which works for women’s rights and health in Africa.
To finance its first collection, Arkhé Paris has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Ulule, which closes next month. Each of the t-shirts is priced at €45 (RM225), of which €5 is earmarked for the relevant NGO.
