Vietnam: thousands of frontliners help hard-hit Hanoi

Pham Minh, who lives on the outskirts of Hanoi, is one of thousands of volunteers and healthcare workers working hard to provide medical assistance to Covid-19 patients.

While people were advised not to leave the house, Pham Minh volunteered to travel to the epicentre of the outbreaks to help patients and support prevention efforts.

He has been working at the scene of the biggest outbreak in Hanoi to collect specimens and provide medical assistance. His group has spent nearly five months working in the isolated epidemic area, unable to return to their families.

Hung Van Pham was born in Hanoi, Vietnam. He completed a BA in Journalism at the Academy of Journalism and Communication. He then lived in Ho Chi Minh City before returning to Hanoi in 2012. He believes the press needs to be honest, timely, objective and transparent. Visit his profile here.
