FMT in partnership with The Global Institute For Tomorrow (GIFT) brings you a Covid-19 “healer” from Macao.

Mother Louis Mary Sesu Ratnam leads a visit to the Caritas Santa Maria Home, a home exclusively for older women.

She explained “caregivers are essential, especially at these times. If not for the caregivers, these true healers, these old people would be helpless. Here we do what we can, but we always do it with care and seriousness.”

Caregivers’ work is often unnoticed, but they are essential to improve the living conditions and quality-of-life of senior citizens.

Senior citizens in nursing homes are one of the most vulnerable groups in the pandemic, in need of all kinds of support.

It is due to the tireless work of caregivers like Louis Mary, that vulnerable members of society can live without fear of infection.
