With the recent Covid-19 flare-up, individual cleanliness is the main concern for people these days. However, did you realise that your vehicle merits a similar consideration?
While the world is as getting more and more familiar with Covid-19, one thing we all know now is that the virus can stay on surfaces for quite a long time.
As such, keeping your vehicle clean can assist you with lessening the danger of spreading the virus. Here are some spots to look out for and clean regularly.
1. Floor mats
Earth, residue, microbes and infections can get caught on the floor mats in your vehicle. Though you may not have regular contact with these surfaces — likely only when you drop your keys — it is important to have them cleaned.
Guaranteeing a perfect floor comforts your psyche, as you know that your vehicle is cleaned through and through.

2. Air vents
The aircon circulates germs all around the car — and that might include Covid-19.
Be sure to wipe down the vents with a disinfectant and a microfiber fabric. As you clean your air vents, set aside the effort to clean the dashboards and the middle support as well.
3. Front seat cup holders
Coffee stains, scraps or simply the charging wire could be in your cup holder. It is that one spot that you would come into contact with frequently.
Clean it in a similar way you would with the aircon vents, with a disinfectant and a delicate microfiber material. Just to be safe, keep a stack of antibacterial wipes in your vehicle to facilitate frequent cleaning sessions.
It is best practise to wipe down your car at the end of the day.

4. Steering wheels and door handles
When considering a spot that so many people come into contact with, the number one culprit would definitely be the door handles.
On top of that, think about your steering wheel — which your hands are constantly glued to while you’re driving.
Utilise an isopropyl liquor wipe or a disinfectant splash for a simple clean, and don’t forget to do the same for the door handles.
5. The trunk
The storage compartment is the place where you store your necessities such as a duffel bag, shoes and more. Unfortunately, germs and bacteria can also be stored here.
Make time to vacuum this area to eliminate residue, and sterilise the space afterwards. Moving forward, it is best to keep all your items in containers so as to ease the cleaning and sanitising process in the future.
