For the affluent person who wants a luxurious GT car today, one is perhaps rather spoilt for choice at the moment as it seems that nearly every premium automaker has at least one of these continent-crushing mile-munchers within their ever-expanding portfolios.
Having said that, while many of these might be very good cars in themselves, only very few have the grand touring pedigree imbued within the Aston Martin DB11 V8.
In fact, the DB bloodline alone from which this latest generation coupe derives its name, has over 70 years of history to its name.
Moreover, while some of these other GT cars are considered cool by many, it is perhaps worth highlighting that absolutely none of them offer that suave, sleek, gentlemanly image only made possible by driving around in a car that came from the automaker synonymous with the coolest of (fictional) British secret service agents: 007 himself, James Bond.
Then again, the impetus to own an Aston Martin DB11 V8 is much more than just a historic badge and an association with the silver screen.
Here are eight other reasons why this British grand tourer deserves a space in your million-dollar garage:

1. Style
The DB11 V8 is a masterful demonstration by Aston Martin of blending its long heritage with fresh design signatures as this sleek coupe manages to look futuristic yet so distinctly Aston Martin.
Key exterior design touches include the signature Aston Martin grille flanked by slim LED headlights up front, redesigned side strakes and distinct roof strakes down the side, and an AeroBlade virtual spoiler out the back.
2. Performance
As the model name suggests, under the hood of the DB11 V8 lies a 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8 that develops a more than healthy 510 PS and 675 Nm of torque.
Despite being derived from its German technical partners over at AMG, this GT is fully tuned by Aston Martin’s technical engineering team to emit that signature brutish British baritone roar through its bespoke twin-piped exhaust system as it charges down the road.
3. Speed
Speaking of charging down the road, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Aston Martin DB 11 manages the century sprint in a respectable 4.0 seconds.
As for its top speed, this grand tourer maxes out at 301 km/h (187 mph).

4. Handling
Though it has to be said that the V8’s 115 kg weight advantage over its larger-engine counterpart does also equate to the smaller-engine car being a more dynamic performer when the road ahead gets twisty.
DB11 has always been known for its comfort ride on the conventional roads and supreme handling on the track.
5. Interior
The usual Aston Martin fare of a luxurious leather-lined interior is interlaced with a brand new cabin architecture and modern technology for a sporty twist.
Bringing with it an 20.32 cm central infotainment touchscreen and a full-colour 30.48 cm digital instrument cluster.
6. Tech
Continuing on the topic of tech, the Aston Martin DB11 V8 is also bang up to date on safety and convenience features with auto-park assist and a 360º surround-view camera system.
Also available are other premium niceties like a 13-speaker Aston Martin Premium Audio sound system, powered armrest and even fitted luggage.

7. Practicality
Despite being a sleek two-door coupe, the DB11 still manages to feature a capacious boot that is more than enough to swallow any luggage that is needed for any intercontinental tour.
Courtesy of it sitting on an all-new platform too, this particular next-gen Aston Martin boasts more interior room for its 2+2 occupants than its DB9 predecessor.
8. Uniqueness
With only hundreds being made each year, and only a handful of them ever making it over to Malaysia, it will certainly not be every day that one of these sleek coupes prowl the streets over here.
Furthermore, there is always the option to request for Q by Aston Martin to perform further personalisation on one’s DB11 V8 Coupe, just to make it that little bit more unique.
Now to those who are currently clamouring for one of these DB11 V8s in their garage, Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur will be more than happy to make that dream a reality.
Prices for these British GT cars begin at RM778,000 before duties, taxes, and personalisation; though it does include a five-year warranty as well as a five-year scheduled servicing plan.
