Summer in Cape Town is from November to February and the weather is just perfect for some serious touristing.
1. Muizenberg Beach
Muzeinberg beach is popular with surfers. It is one of Cape Town’s most Instagrammed locations with these colourful changing huts against the white sandy beach.
2. Table Mountain

Table Mountain is the perfect place to see the sunset in summer. It is open till 8pm. Just grab a picnic basket and some drinks to enjoy the sunset view.
Table Mountain is a Unesco World Heritage site and a New 7 Wonder of Nature. One can take the cable car to reach the top and explore or hike up the mountain.
The entry fee drops after 1pm. Be prepared for a long queue for the cable car.
3. Lion’s Head

In the summer months you can go hiking at Lion’s Head. It is one of the most popular hikes in Cape Town, offering panoramic views of the city, ocean and Table Mountain.
4. Bo-Kaap
The Bo-Kaap neighbourhood was formerly a township known as the Malay Quarter and it is the centre of Cape Malay culture in Cape Town.
It started in the 18th century as residences, which were painted white, that were leased to slaves.
When slavery was abolished, the row houses were painted in different bright colours as an expression of independence. A visit to Bo-kaap is a must for some serious Instagram-worthy photos.
5. Rhodes Memorial

Rhodes Memorial is at Devil’s Peak, honouring the South African politician Cecil Rhodes. Its architecture resembles a Greek temple. A visit to the Rhodes Memorial Restaurant is a must for breakfast and a breathtaking view of the city.
6. Cape of Good Hope
Cape of Good Hope is worth taking an entire day to explore but it can be done in a few hours if your time is short. Take the tram to the top of Cape of Good Hope for a 360-degree view.
7. Boulders Beach

Boulders beach is the home of the cute jackass penguin and here you can see them in their natural habitat.
Buy tickets to Boulders Beach rather than the penguin-watching zone, because in the watching zone there are nests and barricades all around.
There is a much better chance of sightings and closer encounters on the beach.
8. Chapman’s Peak
Chapman’s Peak is a must-see in Cape Town. You can either drive along the road or stop and enjoy the sunset. You will get a beautiful view of the city from up here. The Chapman’s Peak drive is free if you’re coming from Noordhoek.
9. V & A Waterfront

V & A Waterfront has many fine-dining restaurants to explore. It can get a little crowded, but is a fun place to hang out in the evening. You can take a sunset cruise from V & A Waterfront, replete with champagne.
