While she was gearing towards the release of “Rare,” fans asked Gomez in a Q&A if the yet-unreleased song would be included in her third opus.

“That song was from when I was in a different place and doesn’t fit with where I am right now,” she responded on Twitter back in January.

“This is something I started working on two years ago. I found the right partners and the right team…and it’s important to me because I wanted to make a brand where you feel comfortable,” she told fans during an Instagram Live earlier this February.

Details about the line are still scarce to this date, although Gomez teased that “it’s not just a brand. It’s going to be a lifestyle.”

“I want girls and boys and men and women to feel comfortable. It’s [Rare Beauty] meant to be enjoyed, it’s very special. We are not meant to look like everybody else, we’re meant to look like ourselves,” she further explained.
