On Monday, Hapbee Inc announced the launch of the Hapbee wearable device, a technology that “stimulates the feelings a person desires while having the ability to return to their normal baseline state within a matter of minutes.”

The wearable, which can be placed around the neck, over the head, or on the brim of a hat, is said to invoke feelings like being calm, alert, relaxed, focused, or sleepy on command.

The wearable connects with the user’s smartphone and sends “low-wavelength electromagnetic signals throughout the users’ body to stimulate a cognitive response for their chosen feelings.”

The wearer not only can choose the mood they desire to experience, but also they can select the level of intensity.

Hapbee Inc states that no potentially harmful substances are released from the device, and that the frequencies emitted don’t exceed 22 kilohertz, a frequency that can barely be perceived by humans.

After reaching their Indiegogo campaign funding goal weeks in advance, Hapbee will be available for pre-order starting at US$499 “soon” on their website.
