This comedy show will be held this Saturday night, Feb 15, at 1 Mont Kiara starting at 8pm.
Presented by ALMS Productions and Live Space, the performances promise to be a fresh, new take on clean stand up comedy that is appropriate for young and old alike.
Comedy shows tend to showcase material of a somewhat risqué nature, which attracts primarily adult crowds. However, specifically targeting an adult audience tends to alienate those who are younger.
In addition, potential comedians may be missing out on the chance of being in the spotlight due to their age.
Hence, Family Friendly Comedy Night aims to provide a space and a stage for the next generation of Malaysian comedians with age-appropriate material.
In addition, they are a platform for veteran comedians to challenge themselves to create new material and for them to inspire newcomers and spread laughter together.
Hosted by founder of ALMS Productions, Andre D D’Cruz, a veteran comedian himself, the show will be headlined by Shaq Munisamy, a newcomer to the scene.
However, this novice won the LOL Events Comedy Star Competition and represented Malaysia in Hong Kong’s International Comedy Competition and has performed before audiences in comedy clubs across the country.
She has also been the leading performer for comedy group Parti Komedi Rakyat, also known as PKR, performing to sold-out shows in the Klang Valley and Ipoh.
Munisamy will also be making an appearance on Astro Warna later this year on a stand-up comedy show called “Sedapnya Mulut.”
In addition, other great comedy talents will be performing, including Adrianna Aye, Faisal Merican, Monti and Saiful Onisan.
