Clumsy but lovable Gogorn has a thing for balls

This majestic German Shepherd owns balls in every colour that he carries around in his mouth and doesn't let anyone touch.

Gogorn is a handsome German Shepherd who loves to play with his rubber balls.

Two years ago, Kathlyn D’Souza’s sister called, asking if she’d be interested in taking in an extra housemate.

Kathlyn jumped at the chance although this meant living with a big, black and absolutely hairy “housemate”.

Although a breed that is the third most intelligent in the world, Gogorn the majestic German Shepherd, is a complete airhead.

According to Kathlyn, he’s clumsy and knocks (and breaks) things around her house with his big, old tail.

So attached is Gogorn to his balls, he sometimes falls asleep with one in his mouth.

One thing she discovered about Gogorn, who by now had become her very best friend, was his totally puzzling obsession with balls. So far, he’s got seven that he holds dear to his heart.

Kathlyn has been wanting to put to rest one particular ball because it’s torn in every way imaginable, but Gogorn will hear nothing of it, and even gets upset whenever she so much as tries to touch it. So the ball has been left to him to use and abuse as he sees fit.

Anyway, you’d be hard pressed to find Gogorn without a ball in his mouth. So far, his favourites are ranked as follows:

1. The blue porcupine/pig ball
2. The yellow ball
3. The soccer ball
4. The red not-so-much-of-a-ball ball
5. The green felt ball
6. The yarn ball
7. The RIP first-ever green ball

P/S: Stay out of his way when he’s walking around the house because he is prone to stepping on your feet (hard) on purpose. Or whacking your thigh with his tree trunk-like tail.

Gogorn’s balls are precious to him – so paws off, everyone!
