Dashy is a white-furred, red-eyed albino rabbit, who Vivien Lim of Petaling Jaya adopted after spotting him in a pet store.
Having set her heart on him, she saved up enough money so she could bring him home although her family was somewhat unenthusiastic at the prospect of a bunny joining the household.
Despite their initial lukewarm reception, Dashy was much loved.
A fluffy bundle of softness and tenderness, he proved to be an indispensable source of comfort to Vivien, particularly during a difficult period in 2001 when family troubles befell her.
Besides looking luscious and lovable all day, Dashy used to devote his spare time to the important tasks of sleeping, eating and playing – well, obviously looking your best takes work!
He was also a rather intelligent bunny, who could recognise Vivien’s voice, and would wait at the door for her, or rather, for her sock which he loved to chew on.
Given that rabbits can live up to 15 years, Dashy lived a good 13 years thanks to Vivien’s love and attention. See you at the rainbow, Dashy.
