
The campaign is in line with the government’s stand on ending the usage of single use plastics for good.
At the launch of its “The Last Straw” Awareness Campaign on March 23 in Putrajaya, Founder and Managing Director, Abdul Malik Abdullah spoke of the company’s commitment to preserve Mother Nature.
“We have been very environmentally conscious in carrying out our business and today’s event is a testimony of our commitment to the environment.”

The damage done by single use plastics became evident when environmentalists warned that by 2050, there would be more plastics in the oceans than fish.
With the campaign in full swing now, D’Tandoor will no longer be providing plastic straws at all their outlets but if there is a request for it, customers will be provided with paper straws which are environmentally friendly.

“We also studying ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint to enhance the environment,” added Malik.
A household name among many Malaysians, D’ Tandoor which was established in 1993 has come a long way in carving a niche in the food industry in Malaysia and overseas particularly in the Northern Indian/Moghul and Arabic cuisine segment.
It has outlets in Putrajaya, Damansara, Bukit Mertajam, Subang and Penang, and has the distinction of being the first Northern Indian Franchisor in the country.

Federal Territories Minister Khalid Samad, who was the Guest of honour at Friday’s event along with more than 200 guests were treated to an appetising spread of sumptuous D’Tandoor cuisine ranging from Northern Indian, Arabic and Malaysian delicacies.

D’Tandoor also launched its new dish, Jheenga Machhalee Tandoori Lobster for discerning lovers of Northern Indian cuisine.
This particular lobster dish is prepared specially in the tandoor and is strongly believed to be a favourite among the restaurant’s customers.
