To make this task less daunting and more exciting, here are some do’s and don’ts that you should always keep in mind.
The Do’s
1. Do make it colourful
Have you ever wondered why kindergarten and elementary classrooms are always so colourful? It’s because kids are wired to love anything vibrant and bright.
This immediate attraction makes them more interested in colourful objects and places. So, if you’re having a party for a four-year-old, choose attractive hues and colour palettes.

2. Do get the right suppliers
While DIY decorations and goodies seem inspiring and motivating, it also has its disadvantages. It wouldn’t be a problem if you have enough time to do them.
But if you don’t, better seek the help of the right suppliers. Can’t cook? Hire a caterer. Need a princess cake? Order it from a cake shop. Need brilliant games and a funny host? Hire one.

3. Do serve child-friendly, and enticing food and drinks
Don’t stress yourself out with what you’re going to serve the kids. Because really, you know what they usually want – chicken nuggets, spaghetti or fries, to name a few.
If you prefer they eat something healthy, ask the caterer to whip up a healthier version of the previously mentioned food.

The Don’ts
1. Don’t scrimp on games and entertainment
Children live for games and entertainment. So, don’t scrimp on these. Have a friend or some family members host the party or become the game masters. Or, you can hire a local kiddy party host.
Remember that this is the highlight of the party. Make sure that whoever hosts or entertains the children has the experience and charisma to charm them.

2. Don’t spend more than you can afford
For many parents or guardians, it can be very tempting to go all out financially for a child’s party. But you already know how that is going to end if you exceed your budget.
Remember that with lots of creativity and the right budget plan, you can still have a fantastic party.

3. Don’t forget to send the invitations
Invitations allow guests to get a glimpse of what the theme is and how they should dress up for the event.
Include all the pertinent details in the invitation, especially the number of guests. Invitations should also look “inviting”.
Incorporate your theme and colour scheme into the invitation as well.
