Podgy and the Banker is known by many as “the” place to go for a good cuppa. But a visit there proved this eatery has so much more to offer in the way of lip-smacking food for either breakfast or brunch.

Podgy and the Banker is located in Sri Hartamas, right opposite the much busier Desa Sri Hartamas where finding a parking bay can be a nightmare.
Over here, finding a spot to park never takes more than 10 seconds, leaving you stress-free and with ample time to enjoy your meal at leisure.
The cafe itself can be a bit tricky to locate – from the front it looks almost like an office (or bank?), but if you were to look from the side you can’t miss it.
First up, the coffee.
The latte was absolutely on point. Strong aroma, and really smooth steamed milk, no super fancy presentation or anything – just a really well-prepared cup of coffee. Really one of the better lattes out there.
The presentation of the poached egg with bacon (RM16) was rather minimalist but more importantly, the two eggs were perfectly poached.
Only real bacon could have actually elevated this dish but the beef version did its job just fine here.

The scrambled eggs with smoked salmon (RM15) was another simple yet properly prepared dish that was delicious.
If you’re itching for something sweet to end the meal, try their lemon meringue cake (RM14) as it was quite a lovely dessert.
This place is definitely worth a second or third visit.
