Lai Foong kopitiam serves one of the best beef noodles this side of town, so when an invitation to try their Lala Mee Hoon presented itself, it was hard to say “no” to.

This particular Lala Mee Hoon stall usually operates from around 10 in the morning and offers various dishes including Hokkien Mee and Lala Mee Hoon till around 8pm.
If you’re there in the evening, with the restaurant around half full, the wait time is around 20 minutes or so.
If you’re there during the busy lunch hour, be prepared to wait even longer. They do tend to take their time. Luckily, the bowl of noodles is worth the wait.
Some pretty decent-sized Lala come with the broth that is spicy from ginger and infused with Chinese cooking wine.
There is also a slightly discernible herbal taste to it as well, which gives the broth good depth.

If you’re craving for some soupy Lala while in Kuala Lumpur, this stall at Lai Foong is a good choice.
But it would be best to avoid the busy lunch hour…
