After owning an Accord or Camry, this is the logical upgrade

After all, why let your current car limit your future driving experiences?

The Accord, Camry, and Teana are very popular cars for the many accomplished middle-class Malaysians. These are comfortable cars that Malaysian buyers trust to deliver a slightly upmarket experience for a fraction of the price. Ownership costs are low, and they have great resale value as a result.

However, many Malaysians feel like these cars are a final stop. More expensive cars seem to cost more to own in the long run, when one has to consider maintenance. These are also cars that come off as flashy or aggressive, and not everybody wants that despite many car owners wanting an upgrade from their current vehicle.

Well, there may be something perfect waiting that you haven’t thought of before: an Infiniti. The Q50, to be exact.

Here are some reasons why this should be your next car:

  1. Unlike its closest European rivals, the Q50 is built in Japan and fully imported. This is world-class build-quality, with no door alignment issues.
  2. Under the hood are a 2-litre turbo Mercedes-Benz engine and 7-speed automatic gearbox. This straightforward powertrain means you’ll have no major worries, even after the warranty period ends.
  3. Its performance is rather impressive, and it goes from 0 to 100 km/h in all of 7.2 seconds!
  4. Direct Adaptive Steering removes any mechanical connections between steering wheel and tyres. For comfort, this is great as your hands don’t feel any kickback from the surface of the road you’re on. You’ll be grateful for the reduced exhaustion on long drives.
  5. Many interior parts are shared with upper-tier Nissan cars. What some see as a lack of exclusivity actually provides for a broader range of replacement parts. You’ll be happy to note that these are parts already well suited to our climate and don’t melt in the sun either.
  6. The Infiniti falls under the Tan Chong Group which also features Nissan, Renault, UD Trucks and Foton. Therefore, aftersales will likely not be a problem. Even if there are no Infiniti showrooms in your town, they’ll likely have you covered as their network through other brands runs deep within Malaysia.
  7. Many premium brands use ‘exclusivity’ as a selling point while selling thousands of cars a year. Honestly, there’s no brand quite as ‘exclusive’ as the Infiniti in Malaysia for its price. Compared even to smaller premium brands here, the Infiniti is rare.
  8. Because demand is low, you, the buyer, are at an advantage. Go into the Infiniti Centre in KL and you are likely to get a REALLY good price. The official selling price is RM240,000, but we’ve heard of customers walking away with HUGE discounts, around the range of just over 25% off.

What are you waiting for? Test-drive your Infiniti Q50 today.
