
Connoisseurs of French cuisine here will get to enjoy fine food from France prepared by two Michelin star chefs at Garvy’s Restaurant from June 2 to 11.
Restaurant owner Beh Chun Chuan said chefs Philippe Geneletti and Vincent Lucas would prepare several menus specially brought in from France during the nine days to lure more customers, especially foreign tourists, to his restaurant.
“We brought two international chefs who are known for their experience in French cuisine. For our French offering, we have prepared an eight-course dinner ranging from RM300 to RM400 per person and between RM100 to RM200 for a five-course dinner.
“Customers will get to enjoy the menu for lunch and dinner,” he told Bernama here yesterday.
He said the restaurant which had been operating for three years received rave responses from its customers who came from Singapore, Brunei as well as Penang.
“We have chosen Ipoh as the location for the restaurant as Perak is renowned for various types of food and I love food,” said Beh, who is from Bagan Serai.
The restaurateur, who is also BP Healthcare chairman, said the restaurant was a corporate social responsibility (CSR) of the company which had 15 branches nationwide.
Meanwhile, Geneletti said the French menu would be able to create an impact in Ipoh as it was considered a relatively small community for Michelin star food.
“We serve French fine dining menu for customers here. Terrinne and duck liver cooked in merringue are some of the favourite menus,” he said, adding he would be coming every two to three months to prepare new menus at the restaurant.
“I offer creative and playful cooking with the mastery of modern techniques, such as cooking with nitrogen,” he said.
