
Las Vegas cop Vincent is just one of a number of corrupt officers making extra cash under the cover of their day jobs.
Then things get much more personal: someone gets back at him by having his son kidnapped. Things get complicated and now Vincent’s on the warpath.
Jamie Foxx is well known for his range, starring in musical biopic “Ray”, TV comedy “In Living Color”, and the “Horrible Bosses” films, as well as more action-oriented movies like “Django Unchained”, “Miami Vice”, and “Collateral.”
Here he plays Vincent, opposite T.I. as force partner Derrick.
Also in the frame are Michelle Monaghan (“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”, “True Detective”)n Dermot Mulroney (“Young Guns”, “August: Osage County”), David Harbour (“Stranger Things”), Gabrielle Union (“Bad Boys II”) and Scoot McNairy (“Batman v Superman”).
Who’s behind it?
Baran bo Odar who also directed “Sleepless.” He may be relatively new to Hollywood audiences but he both wrote and directed German-language thrillers “The Silence” and “Who Am I.”
“Sleepless” has a good foundation in terms of its source material too, 2011 French-language hit “Nuit Blanche” (“Sleepless Night.”)
When’s it out?
The R-rated “Sleepless” arrives January 13 in US theatres and is expected to roll out internationally over the following days and weeks.
