She could very well be joking but what is apparent is that many celebrities have taken to Twitter to express their dismay over the high possibility that Republican Donald Trump will be the country’s 45th president.

Twitter user @zikrizakri asked Yuna, famous for her duet ‘Crush’ with US singer Usher, “Dah pack barang belum?” (Have you packed your stuff?)

Yuna responded, “Dah. Flight next week. Jom nasi daun pisang. Apa punya election ni.. merepek!” (Yes, I have. Flight next week. Let’s have banana leaf rice. What kind of an election is this…ridiculous!)

Malaysian television presenter Andrea Fonseka also shared her thoughts, saying: “God bless America. She’s gonna need it – feeling horrified.”

Activist Marina Mahathir said “the world just got even uglier” in commenting on the election on her Twitter account @netraKL.

The daughter of former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad also asked: “Is there another planet we can emigrate to?”

Meanwhile, over in the United States, Arrested Development star Will Arnett asked: “How do we explain this to future generations of women? And minorities? #weshouldbeashamedofourselves.”

“I am just absolutely beside myself right now. I can’t believe the way this thing has turned. Trying to remain hopeful but geeez louise,” tweeted singer Mandy Moore.

Actress Rashida Jones said: “I’m so scared. How did we get here?”

Former Blossom star Mayim Bialik, who is now famous for her role as Amy Farrah Fowler in sitcom The Big Bang Theory, expressed her dismay that some opted to vote for third party candidates.

“Tried to tell you to vote for @HillaryClinton and not a third party. I’d be sweating a lot less right now if you had listened.”

The third party candidates this time around were Gary Johnson from the Libertarian party, Jill Stein from the Green Party and independent Evan McMullin.

In a news update, it was said that Johnson received the most votes by a third party candidate since 1996, already garnering over 3.7 million.

Comedian Seth MacFarlane also shared his thoughts on the third party candidates, saying: “How’s that Gary Johnson protest vote treating you right now?”

Meanwhile comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres sent a tweet to Clinton, saying: “However this ends tonight I am so proud of you and so honoured to be your friend.”
