Not only that, Le Nechet is also the first female to claim the title.
Malaysia’s Osmund Bernard was also among the initial 56 vying for the title in the competition held in Miami, Florida, US.
After the challenges began, 12 were selected to compete in the second round, after which it was shortlisted to 6.
Le Nechet, who is a bartender at Cafe Moderne in Paris, France, beat fellow contenders from Belgium, Czech Republic, Japan, Taiwan and Denmark in the final round.
The competition began with some 10,000 bartenders from all over the world competing to represent their country at the Miami finals.
In a statement via PR Newswire, Le Nechet said she was ‘completely blown away’ by the win.
“It’s such an honour to take home the title of World’s Best Bartender – especially when competing against such talent from around the world. This week has inspired me to continue pushing the boundaries of flavours and to explore how all the senses can be engaged through cocktails. I can’t wait for the experience ahead.”
As for Osmund, the IKKI bar manager made it to the finals after going through the Southeast Asian challenge.
In an earlier report by The Thirst Mag, he was said to have infused a Malaysian twist in his cocktail called Pegu Club, using sambal infused liquor for a spicy after taste.
His other cocktail recipe was called Kayanusa, which was inspired by the Sabah Mee Soto.
The Bartender of the Year competition is hosted by World Class which has supported and trained 250,000 bartenders across the globe over the past eight years.
