Action takes place before the franchise’s first film, 1977 debut “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.”
In “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” a group of rebels seek to steal the plans for a planetary superweapon, the Death Star, that goes on to feature heavily in the original trilogy.
“Hope begins with rebellion,” the TV spot states. But by the end, a veteran soldier urges self-reflection — “If you continue to fight, what will you become?”
Should “Rogue One” follow the same pre-release schedule as 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” a full and final trailer would arrive in October.
