Being taught by our parents how to tie shoelaces, and later in life, how to fix a necktie, are among the rites-of-passage many of us have experienced (apologies to those of you raised by wolves).

They’re also rare bonding moments between a growing youngster and his/her elders which would be fondly recalled many moons later.
