PETALING JAYA:
National mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Jemie Lai’s run at the All England badminton championship came to an end at the hands of a Chinese pair in the last 16.

The world No 11 husband-and-wife pair lost to second-ranked Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin 16-21, 18-21 in 42 minutes at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.

Their defeat means all of Malaysia’s mixed doubles pairs have been eliminated in the early rounds of the championship.

Malaysia’s five men’s doubles pairs will play later tonight. They will be joined in the last-16 by the country’s sole representatives in the women’s doubles, Pearly Tan-M Thinaah, and Leong Jun Hao in the men’s singles.
