PETALING JAYA:
National men’s doubles shuttlers Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, who skipped the last two international tournaments, made a strong comeback at the French Open today.

The duo, who have moved up three spots to No 5 in the latest world standings, beat South Korea’s world No 23 pair Kang Min Hyuk-Ki Dong Ju 21-9, 21-13 in 30 minutes at the Glaz Arena in Cesson-Sevigne, 365km from Paris.

Wei Chong-Kai Wun had taken a break from the Arctic Open and the Denmark Open after a hectic year.

They have won two titles this season: the Malaysia Masters, and the Indonesia Masters.

In the second round, they will meet England’s Ben Lane-Sean Vendy who defeated Nur Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong in another opener.
